I have noticed that Just a little background of myself. I was a former President of Concierge Association of Puerto Rico Les Clefs d’ with 32 years in the Hospitality Industry. I’m also an Executive Protection Specialist, graduating from EPI Class 52 with over 18 years’ experience. So, this has been my experience throughout the years and hopefully it works for you. There are many forms of secure transportation and challenges when traveling with clients.
Renting a vehicle
When an EP Specialist rents vehicles, the challenges they have are the type of vehicle the client prefers (i.e., Mercedes, Bentley, Audi, Rolls Royce etc.) most car rentals do not offer these types of vehicles.
Knowledge of location can also be a factor. Not knowing where you are or how to get to places can play a major part in your job efficiency.
Subcontracting a local Security Company
I believe there are many great security companies out there, that provide an outstanding service to us and our clients. Hopefully through social media platforms and referrals we get to know more about them. Unless you have prior knowledge and have worked with the security company before, be vigilant, some security companies hire anyone to stand at a post. They may not be compatible with your standards or be at the security level you require. They also may not have the vehicles that your clientele request.
Subcontracting a Limousine Company
Limo company chauffeurs go through a customer service training platform. They are usually deeply knowledgeable of the areas. Their companies also have exotic luxury vehicles that most clientele are used to. Insurance is also a plus because these companies have coverage on not only their vehicles but their passengers as well, which protects all parties involved. Limo companies also have permission to park in certain areas that rental cars cannot park (Airports, Hotels, Restaurants etc.). Also, their staff are easier to train, can follow instructions or already have knowledge of the type of service you are looking for. All this allows the security personnel to sit in the front right seat and be able to secure all parties.
How do I find a good limousine company when traveling?
Most clients when traveling are staying at a five-star hotel. Most hotels contract a third-party limousine company to provide transportation for their clientele. They require background checks, license, Insurance of all their limo and staff. They also request certain types of vehicles for their clients. All you must do is to speak to The Concierge Staff or the Head Concierge. The Concierge job is to assist guests by performing various tasks such as making restaurant reservations, booking hotels, arranging for spa services, recommending night life hot spots, booking transportation like limousines, airplanes, boats, etc.), coordinating porter service (luggage assistance) anything that the client request if it is legal and moral.
